Monday morning came around rather quickly after that service station fight with Rocky. The two heroes retired for the night, rising again the next one to target muggings and drug runs. After successfully putting ten would-be muggers in their place and spoiling at least two drugs runs, they were in bed right before sunrise.

Though an exhausted Ashley Carter had to be up for school in a few hours, she couldn't sleep, going over each crime they foiled in her mind. She noted how each criminal was always the same, never expecting to be caught but when they were, they were always scared. Some showed it… Others did not.

Part Nine: Quicksand

Tanner tossed and turned in her sleep. Sleep didn't come easy in her old home, but once she found the right angle, she could drift off rather quickly. But laying in this soft, comfortable and warm bed felt unnatural to her and somehow less comfortable then the dank stone of the sewers. She really is sleeping here, right?

She thought of Ezekial and her other rat friends. How were they doing? Did they miss her? But of course they couldn't; they were rats, just vermin.

It's hard to read :0

With so much going on in the background and the non-contrasting colors you chose for the letters, you could've given borders (preferrably white) to your letters, to get around this. ;)
